Its all in the mind and whats in there always matters. What and how you think, determines your mood, your reactions, your actions and ultimately affects your relationships, your stress levels and your life.
I myself was prey to fearful , negative thinking..arising out of insecurities and really baseless fears, for a major part of my life.I always believed that my thoughts defined me , were a part of me..until one day by the grace of God , realisation dawned that the thoughts were not part of me. On the contrary they were like little arrows that would come from outside me, and I did have the power in Christ to control what I allowed to enter into my mind.
“Indeed we live as humans but do not wage war according to human standards; for the weapons of our warfare are not merely human ,but they have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every proud obstacle raised up against the knowledge of God and we take every thought captive to obey Christ.”
This word of God liberated me. I set up a small antenna in my mind, which would pick up the signals of “bad thoughts” A thought which is in contravention to the word of God, a thought which leaves me with no peace. And I would then very emphatically exercise my will and bind and tie up these negative thoughts in the name of Jesus and send them to the cross.
Exercising my will was like exercising a muscle.. soon the exercise was effortless and a way of life. Most people are controlled by their thoughts, but one can live consciously when we learn to control our mind.
